All you need to know about your favourite watery warriors.
RIVERCLAN in the eyes of ROCK
Are you drawn to the black rushing water? RiverClan cats are born with an undying love for water, unshared by any other Clan. This means that they alone can take prey from rivers and lakes, so they go sleek and well fed even in Leafbare, when other Clans go hungry. They're not so willing to share prey either; they were quick to accept Firestar and Greystripe's woodland fresh-kill when the fish in the river made them sick, but I can't imagine the offer being returned. Although they let ThunderClan shelter from the fire on their side of the river, so perhaps I'm being injust. I just find their pride too close to smugness; they say their territory is safe because other Clans fear and respect them, but surely it's a matter of the other Clans not knowing what to do with one end of a fish? Rabbits, voles and birds can be found on the fresh-kill piles of other Clans, but they don't hunt for prey in the lake even though they all have territory that runs down to the shore.
The price RiverClan payed for living by the river was the invasion of Twolegs every Greenleaf. They lived in little dens made of flapping green pelts that were planted in the field next to the water, and they filled the river with bobbing boats and scared away the fish. Did you know that more RiverClan cats were stolen by Twolegs than any other Clan? For no more sinister reason than to be kept as kittypets. Twoleg kits would see a RiverClan cat sunning itself on the shore and want that handsome, glossy-furred warrior to live in their own nest. RiverClan keep quiet about it, even now, because hardly any of the warriors came back.
RIVERCLAN in the eyes of LEOPARDSTAR
There is a Clan unlike any other - a Clan with all the strength, brilliance and beauty of water. Welcome to RiverClan. I am Leopardstar, a past leader of RiverClan. Can you hear the river? In its flowing current you can see what makes us the greatest Clan in the forest. Nothing can stand against the force of water, just as nothing can defeat RiverClan warriors when we rise up together. But when trouble comes, RiverClan knows how to weave through the dangers, adapting to the changed world, just as the river flows around rocks and over waterfalls. We are grace. We are power. We are RiverClan.
Clan Stats
Clan Character: Contented, sleek, well fed. Long fur and glossy coats. They love beautiful things and often collect rocks, shells, and feathers for their dens. They do not fear water.
Prey: Mainly fish but also water voles, shrews and mice.
Hunting Skills: Strong swimmers, moving silent an scentless through water. They scoop fish out of the water from the bank - a skill most cats in other Clans cannot master.

Significance in Series
THE FIRST SERIES
From the beginning, even though it didn't play much of a part in the first book or so, RiverClan was proved as an arrogant, proud Clan. But, as times flew by in the first series, their determination was clear as they joined with ShadowClan to make TigerClan. However, this was much, in my opinion, the fault of Leopardstar, and RiverClan's other significance in the first series, along with Greystripe and Silverstream's forbidden love, was generally as a simply good Clan with mislead intentions.
THE NEW PROPHECY
As sweet Feathertail and protective Stormfur lead off from RiverClan on the journey to see Midnight and the Sun-drown Place, it was inevitable that most of the fans would grow to love this inseperable duo. RiverClan's stars really did put a double impact on the second series, and Feathertail even, if you think about it, saved the Clans by killing Sharptooth so they could move on and find a new home for the Clans before every warrior was killed either by Twolegs or by the strange mountain wildcat that terrorized the tribe.
POWER OF THREE
After Hawkfrost's death and Brambleclaw's heroic save of his leader in the second series, RiverClan seemed to fade into the background as ThunderClan and WindClan took the lead into the race of significance. But, as RiverClan did lie in the background, we eagerly await a pounce from the lying warriors. RiverClan's activity is regularly exercised, however, as Leafpool and Mothwing's friendship grows bigger with every visit to the Moonpool.[/center]
